The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) aims to make it easier for Jamaicans to buy foreign stocks through sensitisation.

With the risk of inadequate information from a market that is often thousands of miles away, the JSE in association with participating brokers will be sensitizing the public on its Direct Market Access (DMA) platform which will allow investors globally to invest easier, giving them the information needed.

According to the JSE, this is an opportunity for Investors to “diversify their investment portfolios with international stocks.”

It added that “The DMA facility that the JSE provides allows investors through their local brokers to trade stocks in other jurisdictions.”

This means that individuals will now be able to invest globally – purchase and sell stocks in other countries such as the United States and Canada.

The second sensitization event is set for this evening (August 10) at the Jamaica Stock Exchange, 40 Harbour Street, Kingston, and will feature Jennifer Schell, Chief Executive Officer & Founder, Finliti, Toronto, Canada.
