Former Kansas District teacher Jeffrey Pierce will now serve 30 years in prison for committing sexual crimes against 80 children that were in his district.
Pierce was also sentenced to five years of supervised release and ordered to pay $55,100 in special assessments.
federal court records also revealed that Pierce had admitted in a plea agreement that while pretending to be a teenage girl, he asked nine male youths over social media to send him sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves.
The agreement however had arranged for him to plead guilty to one count of producing child pornography in exchange for the dismissal of 11 other federal charges he faced.
Court documents revealed that the accused teacher and basketball coach at Seaman High School in Topeka, impersonated an underage female on various social media platforms and induced minor males in the Topeka area to send him images of themselves engaging in sexually explicit conduct between 2018 and 2020.
Additionally, evidence recovered from Pierce’s phones and other electronic devices show that his scheme lasted for at least several years and that he targeted minors in his community, including where he taught.
Further reports also revealed that the accused reportedly lashed out at one of the victims and threatened to air his photos to the viewing public as he had breached his agreement to send photos on a daily basis.
At his sentencing on Thursday, Pierce however asked for leniency as he had experience change and is no longer a threat to children.
This was however rubbished by the presiding prosecutor who deemed him as a predator who manipulated and betrayed his students for his selfish gratification.
