Kartel’s appeal could be heard in April 2024

Incarcerated Dancehall artiste Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer and his co-accused could have their murder appeal heard at Privy Council in the United Kingdom next April, according to Kartel’s Attorney Bert Samuels.
 
He said the Privy Council has reportedly set a provisional date of April 16 to 18 in 2024 to hear the appeal.
 
The veteran attorney, however, noted that the dates could change.

In 2014, Vybz Kartel, Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St. John were all convicted for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard‘ Williams in 2011.
 
Kartel was sentenced by Justice Lennox Campbell to life imprisonment and ordered to serve 35 years before being eligible for parole.

While Campbell, Jones, and St. John were sentenced to life imprisonment and each ordered to serve 25 years before being eligible for parole.
