Rap superstar Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headline performer for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show in Louisiana.

Lamar was officially unveiled as the show’s headliner in a joint social media post by the NFL, show sponsor Apple Music, and the rapper Sunday.

A teaser video was also released to support the announcement, kick-starting promotion.

The announcement adds to a super year by the “Humble” hitmaker.

In addition to being declared the victor in his globally publicised rap battle with Drake, he continues to be on a wave following the massive success of his “Not Like Us” single.

Lamar is the latest rap personality to headline the highly coveted show following Dr Dre‘s 2022 set which included performances from Eminem, Snoop Dogg and 50cent among others.

Last year pop megastar Rihanna broke the internet as the headliner, marking her first performance in over six years, which also included her surprise pregnancy reveal with her second child.
