Leon Bailey has added to his impressive statistics this season.
Bailey has been one of the highlights of Leverkusen’s season so far, also making his presence felt in the Europa League competition, where he has scored five times and provided two assists in that campaign.
Bayer Leverkusen celebrated a satisfactory 4-0 derby day win over FC Köln, which kept the team top of the Bundesliga standings.
The Jamaican, who has scored four goals in nine appearances for the team this season, did not add to his tally in the big win. He provided an assist for Wirtz, who scored the team’s fourth goal.
Afterwards, Bailey also assisted his teammates in their celebrations, standing in the middle of the crowd to film himself and exuberant fellow players as they danced in front of an empty stadium.
Leverkusen’s Rhine derby win leaves the team one point ahead of reigning champions Bayern Munich, right before the team’s face off in Saturday’s crunch top-of-the-table clash in Leverkusen. Bayern kept pace with Leverkusen on Wednesday after Robert Lewandowski scored twice to give the team a 2-1 win over Wolfsburg.
