Lil Wayne is officially a diamond-selling artiste after his 2008 smash hit “Lollipop” was recognized for going ten-time platinum in the US alone recently.

On Wednesday afternoon, Lil Wayne took to social media to show off his Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) commemorative plaque of recognition for sales exceeding 10 million officially registered sales in the US.

Lollipop which was released on March 13, 2008, was one of the lead singles from his ultra-successful Carter III album which was dropped in that same year.

The single which features the later rapper static major peaked at number one on the Billboard hot 100 charts, coincidentally Weezy’s first Billboard chart-topper as a solo act, which is almost predictively his most successful song ever.

In the IG post, Tunechi shared a message of thanks to his fans for the accomplishments of the track which is still registering steady sales 14 years after its release.

An excited Wayne shared his jubilance of gaining his first diamond-selling single, underscoring that the feat is based on official singles sold and not streamed as he looked on his plaque with pride.

“Shawty want a thug, my thug Lollipop, my first diamond record certified 10 million single sold not streamed 10 million singles…. That’s a lot of people, I Appreciate every single one of you  I swear to you”.

He also gave respect to the co-writer and features an artiste on the track static major who passed weeks before the release of the single.
