The Caribbean and more so Jamaica has been a melting pot of different cultures and diverse lifestyles, always attracting big companies to capitalise on the culture for sales.
A recent blunder by Loius Vuitton however, showed that the company was a little out of touch with the Jamaican brand.
The Louis Vuitton team released their idea of Jamaican pullover bearing the Rastafarian colours instead of the colours of the flag.
The brand decided to pay homage on black history month and Reggae month.
BET as well as Cedalla Marley has been very vocal about the mix up.
The headline of the BET article read A Fail!: Louis Vuitton Designs A Sweater ‘Inspired’ By The Jamaican Flag, And The Colors Are Completely Wrong. The article chastised the company for their lack of research.
