Hit psychological series ‘Swarm’, may have been receiving critic acclaim for its star power in front of the camera, however, a behind-the-scenes player may prove to be the most high-profile addition following the revelation that Malia Obama was credited as a writer.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight(ET), the show’s co-creator Janine Nabers, shared that the former first daughter co-wrote the fifth episode of Prime Video’s new thriller series.

Nabers was full of praise for Malia’s writing style, noting that it brought value to the direction of the series.

“Some of her pitches were wild as hell, and they were just so good and so funny,” Nabers to ET.

“She’s an incredible writer. She brought a lot to the table … She’s really, really dedicated to her craft.”

In separate interviews with Vanity Fair, Nabers and “Swarm” co-creator and actor Donald Glover, reiterated the writing talent of the older Obama daughter, noting that she’s a “very professional person” and “an incredible writer and artist as well as an amazingly talented person.”

Glover continued, “I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon… Her writing style is great.”

The series is said to be inspired by events surrounding R&B superstar Beyoncé and her loyal fanbase known as the “BeyHive.”

The creative team re-created some of the singer’s viral moments for the show, including the infamous elevator incident involving JAY-Z and Solange.

“Swarm,” according to the official synopsis, follows Dre (Dominique Fishback), an obsessed fan of a fictional pop star (whose profile bares strikingly identical status of singer Beyoncé), with a fanbase known as “The Swarm”- a fictional parallel to Beyonce’s fan base-“Bey Hive”.

The show explores Dre’s life, her fandom, and how it takes her to dark, unexpected places across the states.
