“I was not permitted entry at the border into Canada.” This was the main message from Reggae singer Skip Marley as he shared his disappointment about being forced to cancel his show in Toronto, Canada was slated for Wednesday.
Skip broke the news via his Twitter after posting a video of himself at the Canadian Border while he expressed remorse to his fans, for having to skip that tour date due to his denial of entry at the port officials.
“Yo Skip Marley here. As you can see, I’m at the border, and unfortunately this time we’ve been turned away but we’re looking forward to you know rescheduling right at the Toybox ” the ‘Lions’ singer explained
“So once again I want to apologize to all the fans. We tried but we’re going to keep trying” he added in the video update.
“I know many of you were looking forward to this just as much as I was and I apologize that we have to wait a bit longer. We are working on rescheduling and I’m looking forward to coming back ” Marley expressed in the subsequent post which was paired with documents of his refusal.

“I wish this wasn’t the case – I did everything I was told I needed to do to meet the entry requirements but it seems today they needed more,” reads Marley’s message to his fans.
While not specifically highlighting if it was due to vaccination status or not the “Direction to return to the United States,” document shows the box checked for;
“you are prohibited from entering Canada by an order or regulation made by the Governor in Council under the Emergencies Act or Quarantine Act.”
“It however shows that Marley will be allowed back at which time “you are no longer prohibited from entering Canada by an order or regulation made by the Governor in Council under the Emergencies Act.” The document reads, “or the Quarantine Act and an officer will be able to examine your application to enter Canada ” It added.
That restriction may, however, be short-lived if indeed his ‘vaxed stat’ was the issue, as reports assert that the country may be seeking to repeal or relax the mandate for entry by month’s end.
