Twenty-year-old Shamar Virgo of Standfast district, St Ann has been charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Robbery with Aggravation following an incident in Alexandria.

Reports from the Alexandria Police are that about 8:00 a.m., the complainant was driving his motorcycle along the roadway when a Toyota Axio motorcar drove up behind him. Virgo along with two men allegedly alighted from the vehicle posing as police; one of the men brandished a firearm and robbed the complainant of his motorcycle. The complainant escaped unharmed and reported the robbery to the police. On Monday, June 07 Virgo was confronted by the complainant after he was spotted in the Alexandria area. A fight ensued during which the complainant inflicted stab wounds to Virgo. Virgo was assisted to the hospital where he was treated and released in the custody of the police.

He was subsequently charged after a question and answer session.
