Jeffrey Campbell, more popularly known as Agent Sasco, underscored his maturity in the music while responding to a social media comment about a preference of content from his previous ‘Assassin’ moniker.
Sasco shared the user’s comment on his Instagram page which stated; “Personally think Assassin just badder than agent Sasco… the rebrand just wasn’t it for true Assassin fans… like myself”.
The Winning Right Now singer responded to the user’s sentiment in his caption, saying “NEWSFLASH‼️ Assassin to Agent Sasco was not merely “Rebranding”. It was a “Mental Revamp.””
“I decided my work should reflect my values and beliefs,” he continued.
The Same Ting Again artiste was implicit in sharing that, expecting the same type of content from his younger, perhaps more immature self, now was not possible.
“So if you expect me to produce material from a 19 yr old “Assassin” perspective… good luck with that,” he stated.
He was equally strident in declaring his disinterest in promoting violence and criminality in his music.
“Oh btw… Don’t expect me to release songs promoting murder nor anything to further societal decay either,” he concluded.
Sasco is regarded as one of the most versatile and lyrical artistes of the genre, with a career spanning over 20-years, and has produced several chart-topping singles such as Dem Badmind, and Stronger to name a few.
The comment revisits the topic of growth and maturity in music, a subject which he addressed in his 2021 release: ‘Sasco vs Assassin’, where he creatively discusses the issue with himself from both perspectives.
