Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi continued his return to peak form this season, after netting twice in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Honduras to extend their unbeaten run to 34 games.
The Paris Saint Germaine (PSG) forward; as expected, provided the bulk of the highlights in an exciting display of lobbing the flair, to comfortably dismiss their opponents.
Messi opened his account just before the half-time interval with a successful penalty conversion in the added time to double Argentina’s lead after Lautaro Martinez scored their first in the minute 16.
The Messi magic continued in the second half as he bagged his brace and Argentina’s third in the 69th minute with a delightful chip over the Honduras keeper to make it 3-0.
That strike, taking him to his 88th international goal in 163 appearances for the two-time world champs.
This game will be their penultimate fixture before the World Cup.
