The wait for the debut duet between Dancehall star Popcaan and former Miss World Toni-Ann Singh will officially come to an end in the next few hours after being given a midnight for release time on Tuesday.

The time was confirmed on Popcaan’s Instagram page on Tuesday afternoon where he posted the track’s first official audio teaser.

The roughly 20-second audio preview posted to his IG, shows what is likely the chorus of the track in with the two artists harmonizing the melodic chant – “You don’t need to run away..just stay right next to me,.. but if you want to go then go,…just stay right next to me”

The audio preview comes four days after the pair revealed its pending release on Friday with the unveiling of the song’s title and cover art on their respective Instagram pages.

“Next to me” which is their first official song together looks set to also be the first official release from Popcaan’s upcoming album- Great is he.

While the project’s official drop has been teased months prior this first single has given perhaps the strongest indicator that it may be nearing a release, which is suspected to be before the year’s end.
