The organizers of Miss Universe Jamaica have announced for the first time, 30 ladies the largest amount of ladies to go head-to-head for the 2023 crown.
The ladies will vie for a chance to represent Jamaica on the international stage at the 72nd Miss Universe to be held in El Salvador.
Pageant Directors, Mark McDermoth and Karl Williams along with their team made the selection from over 70 ladies and stated that for the 10th year, they intend to do it big and felt 30 was the right amount of ladies needed for this year.
The ladies selected are:
Ayanna Powell, Tiffany Shields, Shadi Forsythe, Deborah Gordon, Shadia Johnson, Sasha-Gaye Markes, Tika Rutherford, Suzanne Dowdie, Seanakaye Wright, Tia Rutherford, Trya Spaulding, Imani Coleman, Lannie Fullwood, Alicia Sewell, and Olivia Alex.
The other 15 girls are: Ashley White, Robyn Lloyd, Shanice Rernie, Tia Dryden, Zarria Darna, Gabrielle Henry, Nikelle Marrier, Ashlie Barrett, Jordon Lauren Levy, Sara Dee Palmer, Maria Hetey, Denise Wilson, Shanique Robinson, Lisa Marah, and Robian Burnett.
The finalists were selected on Saturday (June 10) during an elimination event at AC Hotel Kingston. This year the pageant contains several historic new rules such as: allowing ladies who are mothers to enter the contest as well as women who are married.
The organizers of Miss Universe Jamaica have endorsed such and a few will be on showcase come August when Toshami Calvin will hand the crown to another beauty.
In the meantime, the sashing of the contestants will take place on Sunday, June 25 at AC Hotel Kingston, and Jamaicans are invited to get to know each and support the ladies.
