Music fraternity supports Trooper following daughter’s death

Noted sound system selector Ricky Trooper has received an outpouring of support from the dancehall and Reggae community following the reported death of his daughter on Thursday.

According to reports Brianna Destiny McKoy, 23, was found unresponsive in her condominium by authorities in Bridgeport, Connecticut around 11:20 am on Thursday.

It was further reported that Miss McKoy appeared to have been fatally shot which paramedics and other first responders confirmed, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran.

Investigators have since classified the case as a homicide.

Musical personalities such as Bounty Killer and Bugle have been among the first set of persons who since used their social media platforms to not only show solidarity with Trooper but to also advocate for justice in his daughter’s case.

“Mi nuh like one bone inna @rickytrooper876 but mi worse nuh like this my condolences goes out to her family and friends the kids are innocent” Killa shared.

While Bugle expressed shock writing, “Jaaaaaaaah Know !!!” in a repost about the incident.

Fellow artistes, I-Octane and Jessie Royal also expressed their ire at the incident.


Trooper, whose given name is Garfield Mckoy, has not publicly commented on the death of his daughter.

It’s also understood that authorities have identified a suspect in the case.
