R&B star Ne-Yo has apologised to fans for crypto-scam-related tweets shared and uploaded to his page following a reported account hack over the weekend.

The “Sex Love” singer, who appeared to have regained full control of his X account, shared his apology on Sunday.

He wrote: 

“Hey everyone, I am sorry for everything that was posted on my X account in these days,” the tweet read adding, “account was hacked and they was trying to get money from people.” 

Following the apology, several fans expressed relief and curiosity about the legitimacy of the unusual posts from the Grammy winner’s account over the past few days.

According to reports, Ne-Yo is the latest celebrity to be targeted by crypto scammers, with rapper 50 Cent also said to be a victim of a similar scheme months before.

As we reported at the time, the “Candy Shop” rapper claimed that scammers earned $3 million in under 30 minutes after falsely claiming he created a crypto-currency and then promoting it to his fans by hacking his X page.
