The toll rates, which would become effective on July 1st has been delayed to August 20 following a discussion the government had with the Jamaica North South Highway Company Limited (JNSHC) .
This means Jamaican motorists will get a reprieve during the summer of 2023 for travel on the Edward Seaga Highway, as the existing toll rates for that corridor will remain in effect until August 20, 2023.
However, the toll adjustment on the P.J. Patterson Highway (East-West), which is operated by TransJamaican Highway Limited (TJH) will be implemented on July 1, 2023.
The Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport (MSET), in a release Thursday said users of the East-West Highway are encouraged to take advantage of the discounts that are available to T-Tag users. On the East-West Highway all Class-1 T-Tag customers will enjoy no increase in toll rates and Class-2 T-Tag customers will see reduced rates.
