Olympian Charokee Young joins Puma family

 Puma’s love affair with Jamaica continues to bloom after the announced signing of another athletics talent, this time 400m standout Charokee Young.

The deal which was announced by Puma on Friday afternoon, follows the breaking news that sprint Juggernaut fellow Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah joined the ‘Forever Faster’ team at Puma on Thursday.

  “So blessed to announce that I am the newest member of the PUMA Family. Cheers to new beginnings,” Young posted on her Instagram account as caption to a picture of picture of herself holding a Puma spike.

The Texas AM alumni finished third at last month’s National Championships to qualify to represent Jamaica at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, which started on Friday.

The 21-year-old who has had impressive collegiate season on NCAA circuit this year which included posting a massive personal best of 50.00 seconds a then world lead, at the Texas A&M vs Texas Dual meeting in Bryan-College Station, TX, on April 2.

Young then went sub-50 seconds posting 49.87 seconds at Percy Beard Track, Gainesville, FL on April 16. That time is the second fastest time of the year which make her a heavy medal contender at this year’s World Championships.
