It was an intimate affair at Ribbiz Ultra Lounge on Thursday night as patrons turned out to support Sasha Henry, aka “Queen Cop,” for the official video premiere of her new single “Draw Close,” featuring Shawn Antoine.
The premiere encapsulated a chilled and fun-filled outing, which created a lovely build-up to the main event of the highly anticipated visual of the Shawn Antoine-produced track.
A mixture of fans, colleagues, and socialites turned out for the premiere, in addition to fellow entertainers such as QQ and DJ Kryptic, which added to the excitement of the night’s event.
The show must go on.
There was, however, a risk of the event’s delay due to a leg injury to the main star prior to the event; however, not even a broken leg could prevent Henry from ensuring the premiere went as planned.
The 2018 Prime Minister Youth awardee decked out in a lovely all-black ensemble, accessorised with her dark blue leg cast and crochets in-toe, was an example of dedication, as she exuded confidence and poise, making her presence felt at the premiere.
The single, which was officially released on Friday, is an uplifting reggae and dancehall fuse track that sees Queen Cop deliver a powerful message of resilience in the face of adversity. A well-received effort that had patrons arrested in the motivational ‘feels’.
The significance of the ‘Queen Cop’ brand
Henry, a sergeant in the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) who also has a large social media following under her moniker “Queen Cop,” shared the significance of her twining that brand with music.
Music versus JCF
The eloquently spoken Henry noted that while she is exploring her musical talent, she has no intention of stepping away from her passion for law enforcement.
QQ also gave his thumbs up to the premiere and collaborative effort by Queen Cop and Antoine.
The single is now available on all platforms and her official Vevo channel, “Queen Cop Vevo.”
