Pep Guardiola’s managerial career in club football may be nearing its close after sharing that Manchester City will be his final team at that level in his illustrious club career.
Guardiola confirmed his thoughts, Speaking to Marbella-born chef Dani Garcia on his Desmontadito YouTube channel.
“I’m not going to manage another team,” Guardiola continued. “I’m not talking about the long-term future but what I’m not going to do is leave Manchester City and go to another country to do the same thing as I am now.”
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager recently extended his current contract for two more seasons amidst the uncertainty of his immediate future with the team. He noted that despite winning six titles in his last seven seasons, he at times feels he wants a break. He, however, noted he’s unable to at the moment.
“I want to leave it and go and play golf but I can’t,” Guardiola said, as translated and relayed by The Mirror. “A time will come when I feel it’s enough and I’ll definitely stop then.”
The reports come amidst his City’s disastrous form, winning only once in seven games, including five consecutive losses, his worst run ever in managerial.
