A 28-year-old plumber who resides in the nation’s capital was arrested and charged on Sunday after police discovered a round of ammunition in his vehicle.

The accused, Orville Hamilton, otherwise called ‘Pops’, from Regent Street in Denham Town, Kingston 14 has been charged with unauthorized possession of ammunition.

It is reported that around 11:00 a.m., police were on patrol on Darling Street in the vicinity of the market when they noticed a white Toyota Mark X motor car travelling behind them with a child standing between the driver and the front passenger seat.

The driver, later identified as Hamilton, was signalled to stop when the police observed him throwing a black bag on the rear passenger’s seat.

The bag was subsequently retrieved and later searched in Hamilton’s presence where the single round of ammunition along with health cards bearing the accused’s name was uncovered.

He was then taken into custody and penultimately charged.

A court date is being finalized for the accused.
