Two years after their originally slated date of occupancy, members of the Portmore Municipality Corporation held their inaugural meeting inside the new municipal building.
Despite minors works still being done to the venue, the council hosted its first meeting on Wednesday night with residents from as far as Waterford in attendance to mark the occasion.
Chairman of the Portmore Municipal Corporation, Leon Thomas, assertsed that six departments are currently relocated to the new building, which boasts much-improved amenities and infrastructure.
The residents in attendance echoed the same sentiment to the new look and feel of the Corporation Building.
Thomas added that the project which was budgeted at $ 190 million dollars should be fully operational in January.
