Former European Champions Portugal and Spain gave a preview of what to expect from them at the World Cup after convincing wins in their final warm fixtures before their campaign kicks off.

2010 World Cup Champions Spain sent a reminder that they’re also in the conversation for the 2022 title contention, after dismissing Jordan 3-1 at the Amman International Stadium on Thursday.

The goals came from teen talents Ansu Fati, Gavi, and young rising prospect Nico Williams.

Fati 18 opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Barcelona clubmate Gavi also 18, doubled their advantage in minute 56.

Williamson later added a third, six minutes from time to make it 3-0 after 84 minutes.

Hamza Al Dardour created a bit of excitement at the end after scoring a consolation goal in extra time to add a more respectable score line for the Africans.

2018 European champions Portugal also demonstrated that they are more than ready to challenge for the world title after blanking Nigeria 4-0.

Despite playing without star player Cristiano Ronaldo they were just as sharp in front of goal.

Bruno Fernandes with a brace in the 9th and 35th minutes started proceedings, with Goncalo Ramos and Joao Mario closing the show with goals in the 82nd and 84th minutes respectively.

Portugal will kick off their  Cup fixtures against Ghana on Thursday, November 24 in Group H, while in Group E Spain faces Costa Rica on Wednesday, November 23.
