An all-woman cast of Jamaica’s medal prospects will begin their pursuit for glory in their respective disciplines, as track and field battle continues at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on Friday.

Triple jump ace Shanieka Ricketts, who won her third consecutive Jamaican title to confirm her spot in Tokyo, along with Kimberly Williams, will lead the Jamaicans in qualifying action when they leap into competition at 5:05 am.

They will be followed by 2019 Pan American Games shot put champion Danniel Thomas-Dodd, who will be aiming to better her national record of 19.55m to get into the medal battle.

Meanwhile, American-born newcomer Lloydricia Cameron will be hoping to spring a surprise. They are scheduled to line up at 5:25 am.

Janieve Russell, Ronda Whyte and Leah Nugent are set to line up in the 400m hurdles at 7:00 pm, while Shadae Lawrence will take the circle half-hour later for the discus.

The trio Megan Tapper, Britany Anderson and Yanique Thompson will then close out the Jamaicans’ schedule in the 100m hurdles scheduled to go off at 8:45pm.
