Randalee among the new wave making her mark

Having scored collaborations with Jahvillani and Charly Blacks, in addition to creating a buzz locally, burgeoning artiste RandaLee is one to watch in 2024. We caught up with this talented singer to learn about her journey.

When did you start doing music professionally?

The soulful singer noted that her first professional release following her decision to pursue music titled “Hold Me” in 2021 gained such good reception it compelled a re-release in 2024 with a video which has also begun to gain traction within the dancehall space.

Despite still establishing herself, Randalee noted that reception to her release locally has been great thus far.

Describe your sound

She describes her sound as a colourful cauldron of diversity with several mixtures of styles including R&B, Reggae and Dancehall.

Comparisons

Despite still being new in the industry, her commanding delivery and sound have already drawn one comparison to dancehall star Shaneil Muir as a stand-out female voice.

In addition to working with noted producer Dane Ray, she received props from Dancehall heavyweight Mavado following her freestyle challenge of a Jahvinchi track.

Future projects

In addition to a collaboration with Charly Blacks, the St. Ann native also shared that she will be dropping material highlighting mental health as well as national pride.

Shaneil Muir, Ninja Man, and Tanya Stephens are among the acts she hopes to collaborate with.

The next five years

Randalee confidently predicted herself to be among the greats representing the culture in the future.
