The safety of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is now again under severe scrutiny after a video surfaced online showed the controversial artiste being viciously assaulted at a South Florida Gym.

In the now-viral video, which hit the net on Tuesday night, Tekashi is seen on the floor of a gym bathroom being repeatedly stomped and kicked by two males, who are heard insulting the polemic rapper, while other persons watched the assault take place.

Its reported that he was later rushed to a local hospital following the incident.

Pictures of a blooded and bruised 6ix9ine have also made its way online.

Speaking to TMZ, the rapper’s Attorney-Lance Lazzaro shared an account of how the sequence of the assault unfolded.

He said that 6ix9ine was inside the sauna Tuesday at an LA Fitness when he was suddenly attacked by several men.

According Lazzaro, 6ix9ine attempted to defend himself but was out numbered, as the assailants beat him to a pulp before fleeing.

Lazzaro noted that the rapper had no security detail with him at the time of the attack, which was evident by the video.

Tekashi, whose safety has been a subject of concern since his release from prison after cooperating with federal authorities in the Six-Trey bloods RICO case for which he was jointly convicted.

The rapper is reported to have struck a deal to take down members of the gang in exchange for his release and has been labeled a ‘snitch’ by the rap and hip-hop community.

He has also since received several threats of reprisal for his cooperation with the ‘feds’. It however remains unclear if the motive for the attack is connected directly to his cooperation.

The assault comes just days after he was escorted from among supporters at a baseball game where he was believed to be intoxicated and behaving boisterous.
