Reggae Boyz captain Andre Blake has officially been reinstated as part of Jamaica’s 23-man squad ahead of the team’s massive international friendly against two-time World Cup winners Argentina.
Blake’s inclusion was the first order of business for new head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson following his official unveiling to the post on Friday.
The squad list which originally omitted Blake on it’s initial Monday release was revised mere hours after Hallgrimsson’s welcome and comes days after uproar and speculations as the reason for his snub.
The snub, no doubt seemed to have added pressure to an already fraught relationship between the players and the Federation especially given the acrimonious departure.
With the acrimonious departure of his predecessor Paul Hall who served in the interim position, Blake’s addition has certainly been seen as a step in the right direction to restore harmony between both parties.
The Reggae Boyz, are set to face Argentina on September 27 in New Jersey.
