Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person to amass 600 million followers on Instagram.

Ronaldo achieved the feat last weekend following his exploits for Al Nassr in the Arab Club Champions Cup final, where he won man of the match.

The Portugal Captain, who was crowned tournament champion, extended his reign as the most influential figure on the platform, attracting an additional 15 million followers since May when his account reportedly stood at 585 million.

Ronaldo’s closest contender on the platform is perennial rival Lionel Messi, with 482 million followers, a staggering 118 million followers behind the international goal top scorer.

Pop singer Selena Gomez is third with 427 million followers on the platform.

Ronlado’s exploits also come less than a year after he became the first and only person to pass the 500 million mark on the “gram,” proving his star power, as he enters a new chapter in his career.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has topped almost every record on the football pitch and will no doubt be pleased with the additional statistic ahead of his second season in the Saudi League.

The Pro League has increased in popularity since his arrival last year.
