The long-awaited rematch between football greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo takes place on Thursday when PSG tackles an all-star select Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The friendly between the two teams is set to provide the showdown between the iconic rivals which never materialized at the World Cup in the middle east only a month prior.

Ronaldo of course has since transferred to Saudi pro league club Al Nassr in a lucrative two-year deal following the World Cup and is set to captain the all-star composite group of players against the French Ligue 1 juggernauts   

The fixture will also be Ronaldo’s debut match for his new club following his acrimonious exit from Manchester United.

The Portugal captain will not be able to officially represent his new team in the professional game as yet as he serves a two-year ban after being charged by the English FA following his action of slapping a phone out of an Everton supporter’s hand after an EPL game last year.
