In a groundbreaking move, Caribbean Premier Sports Limited (CPSL) officially launched its television brand RUSH geared towards wholesome and innovative content in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle.
Several media and corporate executives and representatives from CPSL, Sportsmax, Digicel, Trend Media, and Flow were in attendance along with other media houses. Guests were greeted with a rush of smiles and a drink.
Guests were also treated to a decor like no other infused with major touches of Royal Purple, stamped on the greenery of the golf course with a red carpet-like atmosphere and strong elements of paparazzi with music from DJ Delano of Renaissance Disco and Marlon ‘Musique’ Campbell on hosting duties.
CPSL is a media company that was established in 2019 between Digicel and Flow with a mandate at the time to acquire and manage the broadcast rights for the Premier League in the Caribbean.
Michael Look Tong- General Manager of CPSL says “The transition to this new mandate did take a lot of development work and many months to put together primarily related to legal agreements and finance. I would like to thank the project team ‘Project Purple’ that spent a significant amount of time developing the governance, agreements, and financing that allowed CPSL to expand and successfully operate.”
He noted that CPSL negotiates, acquires, distributes, and sub-licenses content that runs the gambit of premium sports as well as general entertainment.
“We produce our own content services channels of which we have three in the market at this time – one rebranded in January and two more channels that we have launched this year. Our channels are RUSH Sports, Rush Sports 2, and RUSH Prime,” says Mr. Look Tong.
In an exclusive interview with SLEEK, Look Tong said for CPSL, they produced 3 channels under RUSH and their type of content.
He then explained that all Rush Channels will and currently contain premium content and personalities.
Mr. Look Tong further stated the reasons behind launching in Jamaica as opposed to another Caribbean nation.
The launch took place in Kingston, on Thursday, October 12, at the Clubhouse Brewery located at the famous Constant Spring Golf Club.
SEEK along with key business leaders, and influencers were invited.
