International Dancehall superstar Sean Paul and music sensation Byron Messia reaffirmed the sustained international demand for Jamaican and Caribbean music culture as they respectively earned platinum certifications in the UK.
Sean Paul, who has been a staple among international reggae and pop charts as a music juggernaut added another certification to his credit as his 2002 smash “Get Busy” earned its second platinum status in the UK for sales of 1.2 million units in the territory.

The British Phonographic Institute (BPI) confirmed the single’s update on Friday four years following its initial platinum status. The feat marks the latest award for the Billboard chart-topping dancehall track which has also gone platinum in the US for sales of 1 million copies as part of his ultra-successful iconic “Dutty Rock” album.


For Messiah, his 2023 global dancehall hit “Talibans” continues to find success among international audiences after earning his first platinum certification in the UK, also on Friday.

“Talibans” which launched the Kingston-born Messia’s career as a global sensation dominated streams and playlists following its release earning props and remakes from several major celebrities including an officially release remix from Afro-beats giant Burna Boy.
“Talibans,” which broke inside Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs Chart has racked up over 92 million streams on YouTube with the remix pulling upwards of 42 million streams.
