Pandora Billionaire club gains another member in Jamaican dancehall/reggae artiste Sean Paul, after he surpassed one billion streams on the popular music streaming platform.

Diego Herrera, the Senior Curator for Pandora, congratulated Paul in a media today, release calling him “incredible”.

“We are thrilled to formally welcome Sean Paul into the elite group of billion spinning artistes on Pandora… Sean is the quintessential artiste-endlessly creative, bound by no genres but also constantly striving to represent dancehall reggae music and his home of Jamaica. His dedication to his fans is mirrored by their love of his music, which in turn is reflected in his soaring numbers on our platform. We look forward to seeing more milestones achieved by this incredible artiste and congratulate him on this recognition,” said Herrera.

Sean Paul’s current 1.9 billion streams put him on par with top international artistes, including John Legend, Fleetwood Mac and gospel powerhouse Kirk Franklin. Dutty Rock, the 2003 album by the singer, ranks as his top album, while I’m Still In Love With You, his 2002 smash hit, leads in his top songs.

This Pandora streaming milestone follows his recently released album in which he blends new school with OG dancehall in a unique mixture of features and sounds. The album is his first full-length project under his label Dutty Rock Productions.

Sean Paul expressed his excitement for reaching the landmark streaming number and thanked his fans in a statement.

“Thank You Pandora for recognising me on this great achievement and taking the time out to come to my hometown and present me with this great plaque,” he said.

“To my fans, thank you. We did it together and let’s continue to scorch dem,” he added.
