Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang, told media on Thursday that he is hopeful that the construction of two new police stations in Westmoreland will help to further decrease crime, especially murders in the parish.

While speaking after a tour of the work sites at Frome and Little London, the Minister said police data indicated a 16% decline in murders in the parish.

Chang said work on the stations is progressing well.

He added that the construction progress is being closely monitored to make sure they are delivered on time and within budget.

Dr. Chang noted that the completion of construction at the Frome station is set for July 2024, while work at the Little London station is scheduled for the last quarter of 2024.
