Selah Marley, the granddaughter of the king of Reggae, Bob Marley, has responded to the backlash she has received after modeling a white lives matter sweatshirt at YZY fashion show in Paris on Monday.

Selah who like Ye, faced severe outrage online for the provocative messaging attached to the back of apparel during the fashion show took to Instagram to address her stance on the critique.

“THE PAST 24 HOURS HAS ALLOWED ME TO REALIZE THAT MOST OF YALL ARE STUCK IN A HIVE MIND MENTALITY. YOU DO WHAT THE GROUP TELLS YOU TO DO & THINK WHAT THE GROUP TELLS YOU TO THINK.”

“WITNESSING SOMEONE BREAK FREE FROM «THE AGENDA” SENDS YOU ALL INTO SUCH A PANIC THAT YOU WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FORCE THEM BACK INTO THE BOX THAT YOU FEEL THEY SHOULD EXIST IN.” she added. ” ALL MORALE & EMPATHY IS ELIMINATED DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU FEEL JUSTIFIED BY YOUR EMOTIONS.  THE VICTIM BECOMES THE VICTIMIZER. YOU CAN NOT BULLY ME. MANIPULATE ME. OR COAX ME INTO SILENCE ” the Marley granddaughter continued as she doubled down on her support the Kanye led theme.

“NOR WILL YOU BULLY ME INTO BEING WHO YOU WANT ME TO BE I DON’T CARE HOW MANY TWEETS YOU MAKE. DMS YOU SEND, OR ARTICLES YOU WRITE. THROUGHOUT ALL OF THE CHAOS, I HAVE YET TO SPEAK ON MY EXPERIENCE. IF YOU KNOW ME, YOU KNOW THAT NOTHING I DO IS WITHOUT DEEP THOUGHT & INTENTION.”

“WAIT TIL YOU HEAR WHAT I HAVE TO SAY” she concluded.

Selah, faced the ire of many, not only because she wore the messaging which potentially perpetuates an already heated racially conflicted atmosphere, but due to her family’s strong Afrocentric identity.

She had also posted another message to show her attempts to reach out to Ye in light of the eruption online on how they can further address the motive behind the sentiment.

Ye had the internet in a firestorm following the anti-Black Lives Matter (BLM) sentiment which he also dawned on the back of his shirts at the fashion show.
