Several accounts on X (formerly Twitter) were impacted by a bug in its system, which caused accounts to be incorrectly flagged as “Sensitive Media“ on Sunday.
X CEO Elon Musk revealed the platform experienced on Sunday after reposting an update from its official “Saftey” account.
In a separate tweet, Musk followed up with a summary of the systemic issue, explaining what led to the affected accounts being impacted.
The tweet was shared following a wave of responses, which questioned the validity of the reason stated in the reposted report, noting that impacted accounts shared conservative views around social and political matters.
No further updates on the progress of the “fix” by Musk or X have been given at the time of reporting.
