Several residents have been detained by the St Ann police in connection with the looting of a Facey Commodity truck which was on route to Western Jamaica over the past weekend. The suspects were apprehended during routine operations in Faith’s Pen.

According to reports, the suspects stormed the truck after the driver was fatally shot along the main road in Faith’s Pen.

It is understood that the suspects in question stole over a million dollars’ worth of food items including rice, flour, cornmeal, oils, and other goods.

Meanwhile, Head of the St Ann police Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell outlined that some of the stolen items have been recovered.

He however urged the remaining suspects to return the stolen items to Moneague police adding that failure to do so will result in prosecution.

SSP Powell also added that the police are actively searching for the suspects linked to the shooting of the 47-year-old truck driver, Dane Garfield Brown who is said to be a resident of Seivright Gardens in St Andrew.
