Shaggy and Rayvon are toasting the continued success of their 2001 classic, “Angel,” which officially became British-certified platinum for the sales equivalent of 600,000 units in the United Kingdom (UK).
The British Phonographic Institution (BPI) officially updated the track’s certification on Friday.
The revised status comes 23 years after shooting to silver and gold certifications in the month after its 2001 release, underlining the continued attraction among generations of music lovers.
18th Brit-certified platinum and 26th overall certification in the UK
It was also the second platinum recognition of the year for “Mr Boombastic”, whose collaboration with Sean Paul on Spice’s smash “Go Down Deh” earned the status in Canada in February.
