The International acclaim of global Dancehall superstar Shaggy was underlined after his iconic 2000 album, “Hotshot,” was listed in the top half of Billboard’s “200 Albums of the 21st Century.”

The list, which was officially unveiled on Thursday, ranked the iconic dancehall project number 61 among an expansive list of major albums from some of music’s biggest stars across all genres.

“Hotshot”, Shaggy’s fifth studio album, was the only Jamaican project that made the top 100.

The project peaked at number two on Billboard’s Hot 100 Albums chart, yielding several classics, including the female empowerment anthem “Angel” ft Rayvon and the global cult classic “It Wasn’t Me” ft. Rik Rok.

Both chart-topping singles powered the project to become the first and only dancehall to drop to diamond status (10 million units).

Tracks from “Hot Shot” remain a staple among several music playlists, along with several of Shaggy’s other notable releases.
