Party promoters and social media personalities turned celebrity couple, Shanice ‘Shanzi’ Adair and Jermaule ‘Nino’ Adair, is cautioning bloggers and those who send fake news to be careful of what they post online.
Reportedly, a defamation suit was filed by the couple against Charmanique Hinds, the operator of @Newscentree on Instagram.
The couple retained the services of Attorney-at-law Britney-Lee Johnson, of the law firm Makhijani & Johnson and the firm says the couple made attempts to have the matter resolved through a removal of the post and a public apology. However, when this was not forthcoming at the given time, they eventually filed suit against Ms. Hinds in the Supreme Court.
The matter was what both Shanz and Nino reportedly noted to be unproven allegations by @Newscentree on Instagram.
An apology was then reported and posted to @Newscentre_ on Instagram, the confirmed backup account for @Newscentree allegedly after much pressure and fear of legal action.
The screenshot read, “I, Charmanique Hinds, owner of the Newscentree on the Instagram page, would like to publicly apologize to Shanice Adair (@shanzi.a) and Jermaule Adair (@nino_tns).” It no longer appears on the @Newscentre_ Instagram account, which was created in July 2022 and has more than 12,000 followers.
The attorney reportedly said the apology requested, no longer appears on the account, and so, the celebrity couple is following through with the necessary legal actions to be taken against the blogger.
