Popular singer-songwriter Shawn Antoine Allwood is finding comfort through music after losing his baby sister Sashya Allwood, tragically in 2022.

On October 31, the anniversary of Sashya’s funeral, Shaw released “Dear Angel”.

Shawn Antoine is healing with this brand-new single, which he says is dedicated to all who have lost a loved one.

He told SLEEK the song “Was written from a place of loss and grief which stems from the recent, tragic passing of my baby sister. I had to come to the realization that she’s not coming back anytime soon in the physical but believe she’s an angel looking over her family.”

The talented singer says the is a line in the song that says ‘Oh beautiful angel keep flying till my wings appear” is his favorite line because it gives him hope “That I’ll see her one day soon which would mend the empty gap that was left”.

Shawn Antoine says that creating the track, brought tears to his eyes and to his family members and members of his team. He says he hopes it will bring comfort to those who can relate to losing someone.

As he said, “My hope for this song is that it can do the same for others as it did for me.”

The official video for Dear Angel was released on Tuesday and Shawn says the last clip in the music video states “Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day” this concept helped him to cope and “I hope others looking for closure will find comfort in knowing this.”

On the choruses you hear a choir like group of voices – all children from the Maxfield park community, where Shawn gives of his time and help the children us music as their vehicle of change and hope.
