Reggae and Dancehall stars YG Marley, Shenseea and Beenie Man are among the major acts confirmed to headline one of New Zealand’s biggest music festivals, “Eden Fest” in Auckland, New Zealand, on Saturday
The Jamaicans are set to perform in the afternoon session on the festival’s main stage, where they will share the stage with Afro-beats giant Rema, British R&B/Pop star Jorja Smith, rapper Tiwa Savage and Ruger, among others.
Over the years, the island continent has developed into a growing fandom of reggae and dancehall music, with much of the interest in Oceana state’s music influenced by the UK’s chart scene.
Shenseea’s recent sold-out tour gigs and BPI certification in the UK, for instance, has undoubtedly been a key indicator of her growing influence in the UK’s music and, consequently, in British territory.
Given the genre’s strong rally on several international charts over the past three years, the demand within British territories has likewise seen a resurgence.
YG Marley, who continues to enjoy a breakout year and Beenie Man’s recent album success, has also experienced strong consumption within the market.
