Dancehall artiste Shenseea puts a new spin on the Christmas classic Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. The song is included in Apple Music’s Carols Covered, an album featuring contemporary artistes renditions of popular Christmas songs.

Speaking with Apple Music, the mother of one gushed, “My favorite holiday memory is my first year of being an artist because before, I did not have much.”

She continued saying, “When I became an artist, I started to get more financially stable and I was able to buy my son gifts, afford anything I wanted to eat, and I felt more content and relaxed.”

Shenseea’s Hallelujah also makes an appearance on another Apple featured playlist – A collection promoting unity titled Peace on Earth. The playlist’s description reads: “The style here varies. and so does the vintage, but the mood and hopes are the same: Let’s set aside our differences for a while and move forward together”.

Also featured are Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Three Little Birds, One Love and People Get Ready.
