Sister Nancy’s ‘Bam Bam’ tops charts after Netflix’s Ozark premier

Veteran reggae singer Sister Nancy has returned to the top of the reggae charts with her 1982 smash ‘Bam Bam’ after it was featured in the hit Netflix series Ozark recently.

Bam Bam’s notoriety immediately started to rise after being used in the season opener of the popular series which is in its fourth cycle.

The song is currently top of the Reggae iTunes Charts as well as Amazon’s best sellers in music.

The track, which was released 40 years ago, has been among the most sampled and covered in history, and used by the likes of Jay Z on his 4:44 album, Kanye West’s Life of Pablo in his 2018 project as well as being used in Reebok’s 2014 campaign, to name a few.

Bam Bam, one of the most successful songs ever to be released from Jamaica, has also been listed among the top 500 greatest songs of all time by Rolling Stones Magazine.

A reported 128 songs that have sampled Sister Nancy’s tune, including Famous by Kanye West and Rihanna, BAM by Jay-Z and Damian Marley, Lost Ones by Lauryn Hill, Bomb by Chris Brown featuring Wiz Khalifa, and Do To Me by H.E.R.
