Six people killed in Virginia Walmart shooting

Six people have been killed including the shooter, and four others injured following a shooting incident at a Virginia Mall last evening.

According to reports, the shooter who is said to be an employee of the Chesapeake establishment died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound; his identity however has not yet been released as police have yet to contact his next of kin.

It is understood that the shooter entered the establishment at around 10:12 armed with a pistol and immediately opened fire on his colleagues before turning the weapon on himself.

Officers were dispatched to the scene in less than two minutes after receiving reports of an active threat. Upon their arrival, the police discovered the victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The killer was also found a few feet away from the other victims with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Subsequently, all victims were transported to a hospital where six of the ten victims were pronounced dead while the remaining four victims were admitted in serious condition.

So far, the United States has recorded a total of 600 mass shootings. On Saturday, five people were killed and 25 others injured at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA.

According to reports, Anderson Lee Aldrich, who identifies as non-binary entered the establishment armed with a rifle just before midnight and immediately opened fire at the patrons.

The suspect was later tackled by two other patrons to prevent further violence.

In addition to the shooting, lawmen also recovered two firearms from the scene.
