Dancehall Artiste Skeng Don has reportedly pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.

According to reports, the lead attorney representing the Artiste Christopher Townsend entertainer said his team is relying on camera footage of the incident to vindicate his client.

It is understood that Townsend has requested footage from the area in which the dispute allegedly occurred, citing conflicting accounts by the authorities with that of the Entertainer.

The matter stems from a reported altercation which had developed between the Artiste and a security personnel at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) on May 24.

The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is Kevaun Douglas, was charged on May 24 for allegedly behaving disorderly during an argument with security personnel.

The incident also reportedly says he was pepper prayed before being escorted out after which he was subsequently hit with the charges.

He was attempting to board a flight to Trinidad, as the headlining act for a Major Dancehall event in the country on May 28.

Despite the incident he was still able to headline the event after being given bail within hours of the arrest.

Skeng’s career has barely been affected by the situation, having dominated local streams as well as rising to become among the most in demand artistes both locally and regionally.

He currently tops streams locally on popular music platform YouTube.

He is set to return to court on September 8.
