Dancehall heavyweight Spice is prepared to take on the legal challenge brought against her by the promotors of popular party series ‘Chug it’, stemming from her September 5 non-performance at the Miami hosted event.

According to Aiysha Robb, the attorney representing Spice, her team is ready and prepared to defend the Grammy-nominated singer against any allegations brought forward.

In a press release on Wednesday, December 8, prominent American entertainment attorney Alan S Clarke of Greenspoon Marder LLP noted that the Chug It team has decided to pursue a motion to claim for damages to its brand as a result of a breach of contract stemming from Spice’s non-performance.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Robb rebutted, “If they’re suing, they just have to do what they have to do. We can’t do anything about that. We’ll just defend it in court.”

Both Spice and the party organisers have been in bitter public spats over the Miami-hosted event in which she was the headliner. Both accusing the other of contract breaches, the impasse eventually resulted in the absence of the Deejay.
