St Ann man linked to the murder of ex-partner’s lover charged

A 60-year-old man who stands accused of fatally chopping his ex-partner’s lover in Discovery Bay, St Ann on Friday November 18, has been charged with murder.

The accused is Randolph Thomas of Retirement District in the parish while the deceased has been identified as Roy Alexander of Trycee in the parish.

According to police reports, at around 6:00 p.m. Alexander went to visit his girlfriend who shares a child with the accused.

Shortly after arriving, police stated that an argument ensued between both men which shortly escalated into a fight. During the altercation, Thomas reportedly used a machete to chop Alexander several times before making his escape.

The police were later summoned, and the victim was rushed to the St Ann’s Bay hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, however, was later apprehended and charged in connection with the deadly debacle. As it now stands, a court date is being finalized for the accused.
