A St Thomas woman who was charged last month in connection with an illegal firearm and ammunition seizure was granted bail when she appeared before the Parish Court on Monday.

The accused Ladonna McLean was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 with surety and is slated to return to court on February 20 next year.

Her co-accused Duran Foster was further remanded.

During Monday’s hearing, the attorney for the accused Hensley Williams argued that his client was asleep on November 16 when she was awoken by police at 4:00 a.m. who informed her that they recovered a firearm and ammunition from her house.

Following this, both Foster and McLean, of White Horses in St. Thomas, were charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and possession of ganja.

The police however outlined that the team which conducted the operation noticed Foster discarding an object that was metallic in nature.

The item in question was a revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
