National 400m runner Stacey Ann Williams logged a season’s best and meeting record of 50.00s to win her event in Zagreb on Sunday.

Williams, running from Lane seven showed strength and composure to maintain her position throughout the race based on the stagger before pulling away in the final 50m for the win, claiming the record in the process.

The run adds to a consistent series of sub-51-second clockings for Williams this year including her performances at the Paris Olympics where she was a semifinalist.

It was the first of two on-track wins for Jamaica at the meet which also saw national 100m hurdles record holder Ackera Nugent take that event in 12.55 seconds.
