Super Saturday: Liverpool vs City in FA Cup thriller

Arguably the biggest rivals in club football currently, Liverpool and Manchester City, are again set to attract all the headlines when the face off in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.

Both teams, who have dominated the domestic and European competitions, have also been locked in an intense Premiere League title chase. However, they have managed to cancel out each other in their previous two meetings all season.

The fixture will be the first knock-out game between clubs, in a winner moves on situation as Liverpool hunt their second trophy of the season having won already won the Carabao Cup, while City hopes to open their season account.

With the two battling to a 2-2 drawn result last week at the Etihad stadium, Manchester, a victory for either will most definitely be a strong indicator in deciding where the various league titles may end up.

With both Liverpool and City advancing to the semi-finals of the Champions League mid-week, the possibility remains high of both teams renewing their rivalry in the grand finale of Europe’s most illustrious football tournament.
